The pen tool is photo shop has a variety of uses. It's main use in photo restoration would be to outline a certain area that needs tobe removed or restored. The pen tool can be a bit tricky to master but once you get the hang of it you'll be amazed at how versitile it is. The way it works is by clikcing on an inital poitn and then clicking on a point somewhere on the same layer and dragging out the selection to form a certain shape. the lin that is drwan with have handle that you can use to alter the shape of the line. by making successive lien you that then join up the shape and using the paths panels create a workable path where you can alter content inside the selection. this tool can be used in photo restoration to draw round features such as eyebrush and then using the create path path function to create a selected area and then by using the clone stamp tool you can refine the eyebrows to look perfectly shaped.
